The Isley Brothers cover version of the Kim Weston classic, Take Me In Your Arms(Rock Me A Little While), resulted in a #22 hit on the Billboard chart, week of 4/20/68. The song is great and the Isley Brothers do a decent job with it but the Isley Brothers at Motown was like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and the Motown formula of the mid-1960's suffocated the musical direction the brothers wanted to go. After 1968, the Isley Brothers were able to get out of their contract with Motown and started their own label, T-Neck, and did their own thing!
