Outlaw Music Festival Tour, 2024 https://nightlymoth.substack.com/p/eighth-night-of-the-2024-outlaw-music __ nm. https://nightlymoth.substack.com/ www.nightlymothpaintings.space __ I have used the sound from the Hard Rain re-mastered cd. I had never realised that Hard Rain album version of Idiot Wind was from this concert. I thought Bob's voice sounded different. On trying to put the sound over this video (The audio originally is from the VHS recording of this that was broadcast as Hard Rain TV Special) I realised why.. The Hard Rain album version is slightly quicker. Eventually I got the audio to line up with the video by decreasing the speed of the audio (from the CD), so that it was about 1.7 seconds longer in total (over the ten minutes).. On slightly slowing the audio, the pitch changes.. and it sounds more like the original audio from the VHS recording of this video. If that makes sense.. Maybe this has been realised by others previously, but this was new to me. So it seems the video and audio is the actual speed.. the Idiot Wind on the Hard Rain audio CD has been slightly sped up, meaning it is about 1.7 seconds shorter, which slightly changed the pitch. I recall a similar story regarding Blood on the Tracks.. that was recorded the year prior to this. I think the tracks (or some of them), were slightly sped up, and the pitch slightly changed. I have also edited the video picture a bit. __ Some other Bob Dylan videos: 13th May, 2021, Three live versions of One Too Many Mornings, including the last (so far): https://youtu.be/uTv_I0qlLv4 Like A Rolling Stone.
