I probably won't buy another Bambu Lab printer
Bambu Lab is rolling out new firmware that further restricts the ability to access the printer's functionality without using their software, either Bambu's cloud account or 'Bambu Connect'. I already said the worst aspect of setting up my P1S was the cloud account requirement just to get the thing to turn on and start printing... now they're saying software has to use their app as a middleman for even basic print jobs over my local network? Their blog post walked back a little bit of what they originally planned, by adding an unsupported 'Developer Mode' that might allow me to use it locally... but they did NOT update their Terms of Service to make me any more comfortable they won't reinstate their anti-consumer firmware lockdowns or further tie their printer functionality to a dumb cloud service. I feel the same way, sadly. If I could go back 30 days, knowing what I know now, I don't know if I would have purchased my P1S. I don't know that I would have purchased a 3D printer at all, but the Anycubic Kobra S1 seems enticing. youtu.be/91kfolYkRNM?...

Jos aiot ostaa 3d printterin, älä osta Bambu labsin printteriä. Ne ovat laitteina hyviä, mutta vaativat jatkossa pilvi tilin jotta niitä voi käyttää. Toki jos tuo pilvi ei sinua haittaa niin anna mennä vaan! Minua haittaa ja minä en osta, vaikka tuo pilvi vaatimus poistuisikin.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=91kf... One of my goals this year was to get a 3D printer and I was looking at something by Bambu Lab. They recently forced an update that restricts the printers in pretty bad ways in the name of "security" so I'll be looking at another company instead.
