The People's March NYC | January 18, 2025 (4K)

The People's March in NYC took place on January 18, 2025. This is video journalism. The intent of this is to inform and record the events as they occurred. Around 1,000 people gathered in Lower Manhattan as part of the rebranded Women’s March in protest of President-Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. In 2017, an estimated 200,000 gathered in Midtown for the historic rally in 2017. The crowds came together to march in solidarity with the newly-minted People’s March in Washington, DC, where thousands rallied in the name of racial justice, reproductive freedom, workers’ rights, climate action, LGBTQ+ equality, disability rights and other progressive causes. Protestors gathered first at Foley Square around 10 a.m. and then marched up through Manhattan about 1 mile to Washington Square. Edited in Adobe Premiere right after the event My thoughts on the image quality: I am still testing out this new camera set up for journalism shoots, and am not in love with how this footage turned out. Frankly I think the new lens is sorely in need of an ND filter. I shot XAVC S 4k with color baked in. Usually with a longer turnaround time I would shoot with a picture profile (like slog and color after).
