****************WARNING - EXPLICIT LYRICS THAT SOME MAY FIND OFFENSIVE****************** Track 8 from her seventh album "Broken English" released in 1979 copyright Island Records. It was recorded at Matrix Studios in London and was produced by Mark Miller Mundy. Marianne began her recording career after she was discovered by the Rolling Stone's manager and producer Andrew Loog Oldham at a party thrown by the band in London in 1964. She released her debut album the following year, which included the song "As Tears Go By" written by Jagger, Richards and Oldham, before it appeared on one of the Stone's own albums. With her sweet, melodic voice and demure personality, it became a worldwide hit, making her one of the only female members of the British invasion. She got married and had a child but the following year she left them to become Mick Jagger's girlfriend for several years. She was a significant inspiration for many of Jagger's lyrics in the Stone's most famous songs released during that time. She eventually left Jagger after becoming involved in an affair and lost custody of her son, leading to a suicide attempt. With her personal life in shambles, she retreated from the public eye and soon after became a homeless heroin addict living on the streets of Soho in London for two years. Her friends tried to rescue her with an intervention but she wasn't able to quit her heroin habit, which lasted a total of seventeen years, including during the recording of this album. A case of severe laryngitis and the many years of drug and alcohol abuse ended up altering her voice, which became raspy and deeper, with some critics describing it as "whiskey-soaked." It had the effect of making the lyrics that much more impactful, and in true punk rock fashion, captured the anger and frustration that created these songs. The album received excellent reviews and reached the Top 40 in seven countries, but only No. 57 in the U.K. and No. 82 in the U.S. It was certified Gold in Germany and France and Platinum in New Zealand, Australia and Canada. Marianne Faithfull continues to record and her most recent album "She Walks in Beauty" was released in 2021. Why'd ya do it she said, why'd you let her suck your cock? Ah, do me a favour, don't put me in the dark Why'd ya do it, she said, they're mine all your jewels You just tied me to the mast of the ship of fools Why'd ya do it, she said, when you know it makes me sore 'Cause she had cobwebs up her fanny and I believe in giving to the poor Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you spit on my snatch? Are we out of love now, is this just a bad patch? Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did? You drove my ego to a really bad skid Why'd you do it, she said, ain't nothin' to laugh You just tore all our kisses right in half Why'd ya do it, she screamed, after all we've said Every time I see your dick I see her cunt in my bed Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd ya do what you did? Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd ya do what you did? Betray my little oyster for such a low bid The whole room was swirling Her lips were still curling Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did? Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did? Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd ya do what you did Why'd ya do it she said, why'd you do it she said Why'd you do what you did? Oh, big grey mother, I love you forever With your barbed wire pussy and your good and bad weather (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did? (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?) (Why'd ya do it, she said, why'd you do what you did?)...

Maybe the hardest song ever: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnkA...
