SCREEMER - INTERPLANETARY TWIST

This was a 1976 single on Bell Records which was never a hit but should have been, but it's often been accused of ripping off Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz" as you will hear if you take a listen. This was written by Phil Wainman and Richard Myhill a few years after "Ballroom Blitz" was a hit but there's never been any lawsuit filed by Nick Chinn and Mike Chapman, who penned "Ballroom Blitz" - maybe if this had been a hit there would have been as much wonga would have been involved!! Oh and our ears can definitely hear bits of Suzi Quatro's "Devil Gate Drive" in there too! Putting all that to one side though, it was still a great song, and the lyrics take a look into the future (2025 in fact) and with just 4 years to go til then (this has been posted in 2021) it was fun to hear the writers' take on something 50 years from when it was written.
