The Revolution Will Not Be Televised music video (showing all the references)

This is one of my favourite songs of all time, Gil Scott-Heron’s 1971 stone-cold classic “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised”. I first heard it in the early 90’s on a Jazz-Funk mixtape and what struck me first was it sounded almost like rap before rap even existed! I also loved all the cultural references, most of which I was clueless about, it’s like a perfect sonic snapshot of late 60’s / early 70’s Nixon-era America. It’s taken me over 30 years to gradually find out what all the references were about, so I decided to make a video to show all the references (particularly all the tv ads referenced)! Enjoy! 🤓 • • • • • *Extremely obviously I don't own any of the copyrights to any of the materials in this video but this video does feature materials protected by the Fair Use guidelines of Section 107 of the Copyright Act.
