I initially sent my video to news channels, but they weren't interested, which surprised me considering how rare it is to find a clear footage of this rare phenomenon. So, I decided to share on YouTube. As soon as lightning hits, you can see ball lightning travel along a hill on the right side until it vanishes. A cool story is that I didn't know this phenomenon until I saw it mentioned in a TV show called Project Blue Book, which is very much like the X-Files. I got fascinated and searched online wanting to see the real thing. But, I only came across fake videos or unclear footage shot too far away. I was bummed that I couldn't see a real one because this was so fascinating. BUT! A few weeks later, we got a sizable thunderstorm, and I love watching lightning run across the sky from my balcony. I thought it would be cool to capture lightning, so I started videotaping on my Pixel 3. Literally seconds after I turned it on, I captured this video. At first, I didn't know what I just saw. But, I quickly remembered ball lightning from Project Blue Book. Then, I was in awe, for not just witnessing/capturing this rare phenomenon but also the incredible timing, just when I wanted to see one! I feel very fortunate, and I'd love to share it with you all.
