Reviewing more than 400 of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s public appearances since 2020, Post reporters Lauren Weber and Caitlin Gilbert found that the nominee for the nation's top health post repeatedly disparaged vaccines, falsely linked the lifesaving shots to autism and argued that White and Black people should have separate vaccination schedules. In at least 36 appearances, Kennedy linked autism to vaccines, despite overwhelming scientific evidence supporting the use of vaccination to protect people from deadly infectious diseases and refuting any ties to autism. Kennedy, who is scheduled to face a Senate confirmation hearing Jan. 29, also criticized vaccines more broadly in at least 114 appearances, calling them dangerous, saying the risks outweigh the benefits and making misleading claims about vaccine safety testing or discrediting vaccine efficacy.
