Oregon Expected to Have a Volcanic Eruption in 2025; Just Not Where You Expect

This year, during 2025, Oregon is expected to have a volcanic eruption. However, this eruption is unlikely to occur from any one of its 13 traditionally thought of active volcanoes such as Mount Hood or Mount Jefferson. Instead, a shield volcano which this video will describe known as the Axial Seamount is expected to produce an eruption after experiencing an elevated rate of ground deformation.
