San Juan Capistrano Mountain Lion saved by Samaritan
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO: On 01-10-25 shortly before midnight, CHP received a call from a passerby reporting an injured mountain lion at Avenida La Pata and Stallion Ridge. OC Animal Care and Fish and Wildlife were notified and responded to the scene. The mountain lion was seen walking around with obvious injuries. Dr Scott from Serrano Animal and bird hospital in Lake Forest was requested and responded to the scene. The mountain lion was tranquilized to safely transport it to the vet. The mountain lion was treated for injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. The vehicle that struck the mountain lion did not stop. Another mountain lion believed to be the mother of the injured mountain lion was killed after being hit by a car last week in the same area.
