DOJ Finds Clever Way Around Judge Cannon’s Ruling That Blocks Release Of Jack Smith’s Report

The Department of Justice submitted filings in court on Wednesday that says that they still intend to release parts of Jack Smith’s final report on the alleged criminal activities of Donald Trump, in spite of Judge Aileen Cannon’s ruling from Tuesday that barred the release of the report. In order to avoid any conflicts with Cannon’s cases, the DOJ says they just won’t release the parts about the classified documents, which completely guts Cannon’s efforts to protect Trump. As we all know earlier this week, judge Eileen Cannon once again stepped in to try to save Donald Trump from Jack Smith this time by issuing a ruling that says that nobody in the DOJ can release Jack Smith's final report until, of course, all of the court cases related to that and all of Trump's appeals, all of everything is done. Then after that release the report all you want, she doesn't care. That happened Tuesday. On Wednesday, the DOJ came out and said, we're gonna do it anyway. like, thanks for the ruling, but, um, we don't care, judge Cannon, you have no authority here. You have no power here. We're gonna do it and you're gonna have to deal with it. However, the DOJ did make a concession and they actually filed this in court and they said, here's what we're gonna do. We are gonna release the report. Right? There's gonna be some redactions, obviously, but what we will do to appease you Judge Cannon, because you still have two cases pending against the other co-defendants that were charged with Trump. You know, 'cause you didn't dismiss their cases, you only dismissed Trump's case because you totally did it based on rational ideas and thoughts and not doing political favors to him. Right? But anyway, we just won't release the part of the report that talks about the classified documents. Therefore, whatever we release has no bearing on the cases that are still pending before your court. So how about that Judge? The funny thing is, when I talked about this segment, you know, when I talked about the fact that Canon had had come out and done this, I specifically mentioned that the DOJ could just get around this by not including the part about the classified documents. And I'm glad that they, uh, you know what? I'm gonna take credit for it. They took my advice. No, honestly, I don't think they got that idea from watching me, but I'm glad they did it that way. It also, a little bit of feather in my cap that, Hey, I was right about this. They could do that. And they are, we still technically do not have the report yet. They're planning to release it at some point before Donald Trump comes into office. So at some point in the next probably 10 days, we should get that partial report. Regardless of what Judge Eileen Cannon says they can and cannot do.
