Elon Musk is urging Donald Trump to consider a pardon for Derek Chauvin, the police officer who was convicted of murdering George Floyd. The idea didn't originate from Musk, it actually came from right wing talker Ben Shapiro and was then amplified by Musk on social media. Neither of these men have a particular stake in this, so what could they be trying to accomplish with a pardon?
