Folk group Chad Mitchell Trio, after Chad was replaced by John Denver, sang their hit song "John Birch Society" in 1968. This is one of the rare occasions where the Denver-led trio sang a song released by the original Chad Mitchell Trio. Another example is "The Draft Dodger Rag": https://youtu.be/leLnFiLc4mA It's a topical satire which was first released in 1962 on the live album "At the Bitter End". The song was written by Michael Brown, a Broadway composer. Michael also composed another Chad Mitchell Trio hit, "Lizzie Borden". There were a lot of songwriters mocking the John Birch Society in the early 60's, including Tom Paxton, who published his own Birch song on the 5th Issue of the Broadside Magazine. You can hear Tom's song here: https://youtu.be/CRDumFXqOV0
