Tanks and infantry are indispensable for taking control of a territory on the battlefield. The sheer power and strategy of an Army has no purpose if its Tanks and Infantry cannot advance. One of the most strategic ways to render tank and infantry units useless is through mines. Today, the structure and function of military land mines have improved so much that they are playing a key role in stopping armored vehicles and tanks. Ukraine has been at the center of the war for 10 years and has been strategizing to neutralize the Russian army's tank and infantry forces. Kiev wants to take control of the roads, bridges, and junctions that Putin's troops use in Ukraine and turn the advantage of the war in its favor. In this context, the US is mobilizing to provide Ukraine with the resources it needs. As part of its latest military aid package to Kiev, Washington is providing three landmine systems designed to improve Ukraine's ability to secure critical terrain and disrupt enemy movement. These landmine systems include the M692/M731 Area Denial Artillery Munition, or ADAM, the M131 Modular Package Mine System, or MOPMS, and the M136 Volcano mine-laying system. Each of these remotely delivered or manually deployed mine technologies offers unique capabilities. The inclusion of ADAM, MOPMS and Volcano mine-laying systems in Ukraine's arsenal by the United States has the potential to drastically change the dynamics of the battlefield. These systems are specifically designed to disrupt enemy maneuvers, defend key areas and inflict significant losses on advancing armored units. ADAM uses 155 millimeter artillery to create a rapid minefield, MOPMS is a flexible, portable system for infantry use, and Volcano is a vehicle-mounted dispenser capable of laying large-scale minefields over large areas. These systems can be a real nightmare for Russian tanks, armored vehicles and dominant infantry forces.
