Johan Halvorsen (1864-1935) Passacaglia in G Minor on a Theme by Georg Friedrich Händel Jascha Heifetz (1901-1987), violin Gregor Piatigorsky (1903-1976), cello Written in 1897. Theme from from Handel's Harpsichord Suite in G minor (HWV 432). This is Heifetz's second recording of the piece. His first was recorded with William Primrose in 1941. This version was recorded in 1963. Re-released in 1976, re-re-released in 1983. CBS Records Masterworks. ClassicalRecords is a Youtube channel where I upload some excellent performances from the LPs in my collection. I'm uploading these LPs because they are either not available on CD, out of print on CD, or just difficult to find.
