Elon Musk Hints at Launching Xmail to Take on Rivals Gmail and Apple | Firstpost America SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has hinted at launching Xmail, an email service that could rival Apple Mail and Google's Gmail. On Sunday, Musk replied to a post on his social media platform X, that suggested an X-based email service would be "cool." In response, the Tesla CEO said the idea is on his to-do list. In another social media post, Musk said the concept of Xmail is interesting, but he "needs to rethink how messaging, including emails, works overall." This is not the first time that Musk has floated the idea of launching an email service.
