Cenk Sells Me Out To Anti-Trans Influencer

On a recent episode of right-wing influencer and former The Biggest Loser star Jillian Michaels show, Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks decided to mention the errors of “one of our hosts”. Specifically on how she dealt with Piers Morgan on the question of transgender athletes. That host would be Francesca, who would like to say a few words. Jillian Michaels is a rising YouTuber in the RFK Jr.-loving WooAnon fascistic health-obsessed MAGAspehere. She has defended Trump and DOGE’s policies of defunding the federal government, and vehemently believes that trans people should not play sports according to their gender. She has had numerous appearances heralding this position. On a recent appearance on her show, Cenk heartily agreed with this position and used Francesca as an example of a leftists extremism specifically when appearing on Piers Morgan. Here’s the problem: he’s wrong. Capitulating to right-wing framing on trans issues—YES EVEN ON SPORT— is a guaranteed way to lose rights for not just the transgender community but all marginalized people. Anti-trans legislation and executive orders has never been about women’s sports or women’s safety, it’s about ‘eradicating transgenderism from public life.’ Their words not mine.
