Peter, Paul and Mary at the March on Washington

Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary was approached by Harry Belafonte about performing at the March on Washington. Of the performance, he said, "It was our intention not to entertain, not to make people take a moment off, but to focus on why we were there. And when we did so, it was euphoric." Of the Movement, he said, "The movement was not about yesterday; it's about our lives right now."
