North Bay Clam Digging and Oyster Shucking

My beautiful girlfriend Jen and I show you how easy it is to harvest steamer clams and how to shuck oysters while we're at it up in North Bay, Puget Sound. Living the Pacific Northwest lifestyle! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apologies for not having footage of me harvesting the oysters.. the tide came in before we could get to it! But just for reference, all you have to do is bend over and pick them up at low tide. It really is that easy.. just bend and scoop! And then shuck, of course. And don't forget to leave the oyster shells on the beach. It's the law! And of course it assures oysters for future generations :) And fill in those clam holes! The camera and equipment used for this shoot was the Canon T6i Rebel with kit lens with a generic "Rode" style mic and homemade deadcat windscreen. For digging we used a hand rake and mostly just our hands with rubber gardening gloves that are also great for protecting hands from the oyster shucking knives. All of these items plus the clam net bags we bought at local Walmarts and Ace Hardware stores. A bucket can also be used in place of the bags.
