Trump and Vance's eruption at Zelensky in the Oval Office -- let's talk about it

What happened in the Oval Office on Friday was cartoonish, absurd, and, terrifyingly, very, very real. U.S. Vice President JD Vance, with all the self-control of a petulant seven-year-old, demanded to know if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had even said thank you to America. (Spoiler alert: he has). Trump ranted about Hunter Biden’s laptop, Russia, Hillary Clinton, and mused about a bomb dropping on a reporter’s head. A right-wing grifter asked Zelensky about his wardrobe. The whole thing was a shit show. It felt incredibly stupid, but it also had very real ramifications for the world we all live in.
