The Slow Death of YouTube Ad Blockers Ad Blockers have been around since 1996, and in 2025 are used by a massive 32% of all internet users. While they are great for the users of websites, they are not so great for the people running them, as they have a negative effect on revenue the websites earn. In 2023, YouTube began to crack down on people using ad blockers by displaying a message, such as one that says 'Ad Blockers violate YouTube's Terms of Service'. However, in retaliation, ad block companies and the users of YouTube have put up a fight against the platform for doing this. In this video, you and I will dive deep into the chaotic world of ad blockers, and analyse the long battle between YouTube and Ad Blockers.
