Mayor Bass denies reports she fired LAFD fire chief following meeting

Mayor Karen Bass reportedly called LAFD Chief Kristin Crowley into a closed-door meeting shortly after Crowley told FOX 11 that the city had failed the department in preparation for the deadly wildfires scorching the area. Bass' office has denied a report that she fired Crowley after the meeting. California fires are wreaking havoc on Los Angeles as crews battle several massive blazes, including the Kenneth Fire, Sunset Fire, Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Lidia Fire, Hurst Fire and Woodley Fire. Areas impacted include the Hollywood Hills, Pacific Palisades, West Hills, Altadena, Pasadena, Sylmar, Acton and parts of Ventura County.
