"Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten us into!" Laurel & Hardy were best friends. Not just in the movies, but in real life. There has never been a more iconic comedy duo, and their bond extended beyond the flickering, celluloid world. Stan and Ollie are forever linked in our hearts, and they have brought laughter and joy to millions. I adore those old movies! When Oliver Hardy passed away at the age of 65, Stanley was heartbroken, and never performed again. “I miss him terribly and feel quite lost - can’t realize that he has gone". He spent the remainder of his days writing letters, answering fan mail, and preserving the legacy that he and his dear friend, "Babe", had left behind. After Stanley died in 1965, his family discovered that he had continued writing new routines for Laurel & Hardy. Scenes that were never meant to grace the silver screen. He never shared these with anyone. It was a tiny secret he carried with him to the end, his way of keeping their friendship alive. This, to me, is beautiful. We all deserve a friendship as pure and eternal as Stan and Ollie! -- Credits: From the album "Another Nice Mess" Curtis Eller: banjo, lead vocal Joseph Dejarnette: upright bass Rima Fand: violin --- Filmed and edited by Alex Maness: https://www.alexmaness.com/ Laurel & Hardy footage from "The Battle of the Century" Edited by Andy Lyth: https://www.instagram.com/andylyth Recorded & mixed by Chris Walldorf: https://www.siouxsiouxstudio.com/ Mastered by Mike Monseur: https://axis.audio/ Produced by Curtis Eller's American Circus https://curtiseller.com
