It was released twice, in 1943 and 1947. This has a copyright of 1947. Opening titles: War Dept Educational Film - DON'T BE A SUCKER (:07-:19). Henry rides on a train with three men, they play cards. Joe plays around on his wife with another woman. As Joe leaves the bar with the other woman, a guy knocks out Joe and he and the lady go through the pockets of the unconscious Joe. A man watches a street game (:20-1:22). Mike rides on a train. Factories, cities, lots of people. People work on a farm, factory smokestacks, people walk around the city, go to church, boys play baseball. Different churches. People at the dock. Mike walks around the city and wanders by a guy who talks about what's wrong with America, racist talk as people listen. The man talks negatively about African Americans and Foreigners, he also mentions how Freemasons are bad and Mike is a Freemason so that comment affects him. A Hungarian man explains to Mike how this type of talk can rally people and how it is bad that this kind of thinking is followed - he's seen it before in Germany, in the past with the Nazis. The Hungarian explains how rhetoric like this allowed the Nazis to rise to power and how the Nazi party rallied people through hate and prejudice. A Nazi talks about how the Jews and the Catholics are bad as are the free masons (1:23-7:38). His story continues and Hans, a pure German, fell for the talk, becoming a Nazi. Swastika on a wall, large crowd of Nazis. Adolph Hitler speaks to his followers. Nazis rip down signs and then attack the Jews with batons. A priest is arrested. Hitler speaks as Nazi propaganda is everywhere. The swastika. Nazis talk. Nazis burn books as books are power. People flee the country. People walk around Germany. A Catholic priest speaks, he was arrested. Anyone who tried to speak the truth was arrested, some put into concentration camps. A man explains to some people and some Nazis what an Aryan is and shows based on four pictures, ending on picture of Adolph Hitler that the Aryan perfect race is propaganda and a lie. As he continues talking two Nazis come in and grab him after striking him (7:39-12:50). The Nazi flag is raised. People look around. A group of Nazis talk to a group. The narrator, the Hungarian man, explains how if the people had not allowed themselves to be split apart by prejudice and racism, then the Nazi threat wouldn't have continued nor thrived. Carl works with his horse in the field. A hardware store owner had his business closed. Hans works in a munitions factory. Statistics explain that work conditions didn't improve with the Nazi regime, they got worse. Hitler's army on the move. Hans kisses his family goodbye. Nazi soldiers in trucks and walking. Troops fire and move forward. World War 2 is explained, Russians against smoke. The Americans and the Allies storming the beaches of Normandy on D-Day in 1944. The concrete Nazi symbol is blown to bits. Cemetery. Carl, the farmer dead in the snow near Moscow. The hardware store owner dead in Italy near Salerno. Hans died at Normandy - his helmet is placed on a rifle that is stuck in the mud (12:51-16:06). The Hungarian explains to Mike how this should never happen in America and how we are all minorities as they sit on a city bench. Mike rips up some propaganda and it moves in the wind.
