The Pièces de clavecin by Joseph-Nicolas-Pancrace Royer (1703-1755) are considered gems among the French harpsichord repertoire and prove the virtuosic mastery of the French Baroque period harpsichordists. This unique music by Royer expands the harpsichord in dramatically-theatrical terms. "Le Vertigo" is written in the form of a rondeau and reminds with its title of the typical French baroque character pieces, although very soon it will break musical boundaries.
