We've been waiting for this one with some trepidation. On the one hand, there are issues with the PS5/PS5 Pro versions of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth we really wanted to see addressed. On the other hand, the PC port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is - to this day - truly terrible. So, it turns out that the port isn't too bad... but there are definitely some major issues to address. Today on Digital Foundry, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC. You can scale beyond the PS5 experience in some respects, but there are many, many problems that need to be addressed - like #StutterStruggle for starters: youtu.be/26-Vlqmbq8c
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC is better than the disastrously poor port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but it still fails in far too many places. It has shader compilation stutter (why?!), camera stutter, no 21:9 support, and many more issues. @oliemack.bsky.social and I report. youtu.be/26-Vlqmbq8c?...
In the PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the experience is generally satisfactory, albeit with some notable challenges. #gamedev #gamedevelopment #indiedev
