UK PM Starmer announces $2bn to Ukraine for air defence missiles after EU Summit

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the UK will allocate £1.6 billion ($2bn) to supply Ukraine with 5,000 air defence missiles. Speaking at a news conference in London, Starmer said European leaders at the summit had agreed to maintain aid to Ukraine and sustain economic pressure on Russia. He also discussed the development of a so-called 'coalition of the willing' to defend Ukraine in the event of a peace deal with Russia. Starmer refused to label the United States an unreliable ally, emphasising that any peace plan for Ukraine would first go through Washington.
