Milkshake Stand written by Joe McGhee, Howard Greene, and Edward Parton performed by The Three Barons with the Tiny Grimes Quintette recorded in New York City, 3 November 1944 released in January 1945 as Savoy 527 The Three Barons were, in reality, the Three Riffs, a Cleveland-based trio consisting of Howard Greene, Edward Parton and Joe McGhee. Backing the guys on this, their only session for Herman Lubinsky's Savoy label were: Tiny Grimes - guitar Joe Springer - piano Bass Robinson - bass Doc West - drums I am not sure where they got he idea this was a "quintette" but, if Lloyd Grimes is git-fiddle slinging, I am in like flin!
