They discover a mysterious time tunnel and trace its origin to the planet Karfel. There, they uncover the tyranny of the Borad, a cruel tyrant who casts his enemies into the time tunnel. The Doctor is forced by the Borad to rescue Vena, a girl who has fallen into the tunnel with a vital amulet. To his surprise, the tunnel’s far end leads to 19th-century Scotland!
