Anti-Nazi protest in London 1933 | BFI National Archive

From: British Paramount News No.251 (1933) Explore Jewish Britain on Film on BFI Player (UK only): https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/collection/jewish-britain-on-film We Protest: 80,000 people descend on Hyde Park in a demonstration against Hitler’s antisemitic regime. In 1933, the full horror of Nazi Germany’s anti-Jewish policies lay ahead but Britain’s Jewish community was acutely alert to the persecution already occurring and the yet greater dangers it presented. British Paramount News had cameras present and they capture a wonderful array of shots, from several well planned angles, of the speakers and the crowds – many of them East Enders who had walked from their homes to be present for this show of solidarity with Jews in Germany. The copy in the BFI National Archive is mute i.e. missing the soundtrack with which it was released originally. Subscribe: http://bit.ly/subscribetotheBFI.
